01 & Up Ford Ranger High Beam Conversion Instructions
01-06 Ford Ranger High Beam Kit Instructions.

TODAY WE WILL INSTALL THE 01 & UP FORD RANGER HIGH BEAM CONVERSION KIT.

1) WE START WITH AN 03 FORD RANGER TRUCK.

2) LETS OPEN THE HOOD AND GET STARTED.




3) ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE TRUCK, YOU WILL REMOVE THE HEAD LIGHT.

4) FIRST, REMOVE THE 2 BOLTS (7mm) THAT HOLD THE UPPER HEAD LIGHT COVER ON.




5) NEXT PULL UP THE 2 HEAD LIGHT RETAINER SLIDES. YOU MAY HAVE TO PULL
ON THEM HARD, BUT DO NOT PULL THEM OUT, ONLY MAKE THE RETAINERS LOOSE!




6) NOW UNPLUG THE 9007 HEAD LIGHT BULB SOCKET,

AND ALSO THE TURN SIGNAL BULB, SO YOU CAN REMOVE THE HEAD LIGHT.




7) INSIDE THE CORE SUPPORT YOU WILL SEE A 10MM NUT THAT IS ON A GROUND POST.

REMOVE THE NUT AND INSTALL THE CONVERSION BOX WITH THE GROUND RING TERMINAL<.p> WE USED A SHALLOW SOCKET TO CLEAR THE BATTERY!




8) IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS INSTALLED:




9) THIS NEXT STEP WILL TAKE A FEW MINUTES. UNHOOK THE FOG LIGHT SOCKET FROM
THE BULB, AND BRING THE WIRING UP THROUGH THE CORE SUPPORT SO YOU CAN WORK ON IT.

YOU WILL HAVE TO UNDO A COUPLE OF PUSH-IN CLIPS THAT ARE TAPED TO THE HARNESS.

YOU WILL ALSO HAVE TO UNPLUG A ROUND SHAPED SOCKET AND BRING IT UP AS WELL. (SEE PIC)

JUST BE CAREFUL, AND TAKE YOUR TIME. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT STEP!!

10) INSTALL A SINGLE T-TAP TO THIS TAN/ORANGE WIRE. DO NOT CONNECT TO THE BLACK WIRE!!




11) AFTER YOU INSTALL THE T-TAP, PLUG IN THE BLUE WIRE FROM THE CONVERSION BOX.

IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS INSTALLED:

RE-TAPE THE HARNESS FOR THE OEM APPEARANCE.

YOU CAN ALSO SOLDER AND HEAT SHRINK FOR THE BEST CONNECTION. (SUGGESTED)

THE REASON WE PULL THIS WIRE UP FOR CONNECTION, IS TO KEEP THE
CONNECTION UNDER THE BUMPER, OUT OF THE WEATHER. GO AHEAD AND RE-INSTALL
THIS FOG LIGHT WIRE AND PLUG IT BACK IN. ALSO BE SURE TO PLUG IN THE SNAP CONNECTORS




12) INSTALL THE OTHER T-TAP TO THE HIGH BEAM POSITIVE WIRE. THIS WIRE IS GREEN
WITH A BLACK STRIPE. NOW PLUG IN THE WHITE WIRE FROM THE
CONVERSION BOX TO THIS T-TAP.

RE-TAPE THE HARNESS FOR THE OEM APPEARANCE.

YOU CAN ALSO SOLDER AND HEAT SHRINK FOR THE BEST CONNECTION. (SUGGESTED)

IT WILL LOOK LIKE THIS INSTALLED:




13) LOCATE THE FUSE BOX PANEL, REMOVE THE LID, AND THIS SIDE ACCESS PANEL COVER.




14) REMOVE THE 10MM NUT ON THE INNER SIDE OF THE POSITIVE ACCESS POST.




15) INSTALL THE LONG, LOOMED WIRE WITH THE RING TERMINAL, TO THIS POST.

RE-INSTALL THE 10MM NUT AND DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!!

RE-INSTALL THE FUSE BOX COVER AND LID.




16) WITH ALL THE WORK THAT HAS BEEN DONE YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHECK YOUR WORK.

TURN ON THE HIGH BEAM HEAD LIGHTS, AND THE FOG LIGHTS SHOULD
TURN ON AS WELL! JUST CHECK THE PASSENGERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE.

IT SHOULD NOW LOOK LIKE THIS:




17) IF ALL IS WORKING WELL, THEN TUCK AWAY THE EXTRA WIRING WITH SUPPLIED ZIP TIES,

18) THEN RE-INSTALL THE HEAD LIGHT AND TAKE YOUR TIME ALIGNING THE MOUNTING STUDS!

19) RE-INSTALL THE UPPER HEAD LIGHT COVER WITH THE 7MM BOLTS.

20) CLOSE YOUR HOOD AND YOUR DONE!
